{"id":1473,"date":"2011-10-04T14:25:04","date_gmt":"2011-10-04T14:25:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cordelephotography.com\/blog\/?p=1473"},"modified":"2011-10-14T21:24:06","modified_gmt":"2011-10-14T21:24:06","slug":"unplug-your-wedding-guests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cordelephotography.com\/blog\/unplug-your-wedding-guests\/","title":{"rendered":"Unplug your Wedding guests!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unplug your wedding guests!\u00a0 It&#8217;s the new trend for weddings and something I stand behind 100%.\u00a0\u00a0 There are so many instances when guests have stepped in my way while I&#8217;m going for a fantastic shot.\u00a0 This results in them being in the shot and ultimately ruining the composition I&#8217;m going for.\u00a0 The other aspect of this is they are not present in the moment.\u00a0 Look at Chelsea Clinton&#8217;s wedding photo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shoppingblog.com\/pics\/chelsea_clinton_wedding_gown.jpg\">here:<\/a>\u00a0 You can see all the guests enjoying the moment of watching her walk down the aisle.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No elbows, no guests standing in the middle of the aisle killing the moment.\u00a0 Just absolute pure beauty and guests taking part of it.\u00a0 I wish for weddings like this.\u00a0 An entire wedding paying attention to and being a part of the moment makes for a beautiful photo, especially when they aren\u2019t documenting it.\u00a0 That\u2019s what you paid me for!<\/p>\n<p>Below is a link to a great site on how to get your guests to unplug from the day:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"    http:\/\/offbeatbride.com\/2011\/06\/unplugged-wedding\">http:\/\/offbeatbride.com\/2011\/06\/unplugged-wedding<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are a number of templates you can use to put in programs, hand out with invitations, or signs to put up on the big day:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"    http:\/\/offbeatbride.com\/2011\/06\/unplugged-wedding-templates\">http:\/\/offbeatbride.com\/2011\/06\/unplugged-wedding-templates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Below are my examples of why I encourage all my brides to unplug their guests.\u00a0 These are real weddings from the last few years.\u00a0 This is only a small sample of the photos that had such potential to be big beautiful moments only to be deflated by a guest running for the shot.\u00a0 I\u00a0 have also had brides get very frustrated during the formals.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll take the requested photo in under 10 seconds, only to have the poor couple stand there for 5 minutes more so their guests can get the same photo.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve had brides actually yell at their families to stop while reminding them they paid me to do the formals.\u00a0 Remind your guests you invested a few thousand dollars to make sure they have fun.<br \/>\n___<\/p>\n<p>This photo I really wanted a WIDE shot of all the guests and the bride coming down the aisle.\u00a0 The shot didn&#8217;t work though and so I went for a zoomed in shot.\u00a0 What I ideally wanted was the shoot of everyone watching.\u00a0 A shot of all the guests arms and elbows isn&#8217;t very pretty \ud83d\ude1b<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" title=\"Screen shot 2011-10-04 at 9.43.31 AM\" src=\"http:\/\/cordelephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Screen-shot-2011-10-04-at-9.43.31-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I hope they got a good shot &#8230;. \ud83d\ude41<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" title=\"Screen shot 2011-10-04 at 9.42.50 AM\" src=\"http:\/\/cordelephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Screen-shot-2011-10-04-at-9.42.50-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"700\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" title=\"Screen shot 2011-10-04 at 9.41.25 AM\" src=\"http:\/\/cordelephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Screen-shot-2011-10-04-at-9.41.25-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This next photo well, I was ON the ground behind guests as to not block anyone&#8217;s view.\u00a0 I wanted everyone to be able to share in the toast.\u00a0 This shot breaks my heart because the groom had tears in his eyes.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude41\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping her photo is in focus and well exposed. (by the way, she had two cameras.
