A lot of what I do is capture a lot of amazing photos of kids and couples together.\u00a0 When Seth and I try and decorate, we fight.\u00a0 He has no vision, and I can complete see how something will look for the end result. He has to see it first and then he gets it.\u00a0 I lean heavily on pinterest for my inspriatioin to show him the end result.\u00a0 Since Seth is so visual, I’ve learned other people are too.\u00a0 That’s why, one of the neat things I have in my studio\u00a0 is a software that lets me show you exactly<\/strong> how something will look on your wall. \u00a0This has to be one of my ALL TIME favorite things. \u00a0A lot of people don’t realize how small an 8×10 is on a wall until they see it in relation to the couch. \u00a0An 8×10 is a postage stamp on a wall. It breaks my heart to have clients order 4×6’s, 5×7’s and 8×10’ss of their photos. \u00a0I love BIG. \u00a0\u00a0 There is nothing smaller than an 11×14 on my wall.<\/p>\n

I often hear my clients say “I don’t want to seem vain hanging something so big of myself <\/em>on the wall!” \u00a0 I guess, I don’t mind being vain. \u00a0I am the photographer who has 1 16×24 canvas of my son of each month of his first life. \u00a0 Yup… each month. \u00a0I can give you a tour of my house and point out, “This is Jake at 7 Months…” and then follow it with \u00a0“and here Jake is at 8 Months…” \u00a0 You think I’m kidding.<\/p>\n

Below is just a quick view of an actual wall and actual prints so you can see what an 8×10 looks like on a wall and what (2) 16×24 and a bunch of 5x7s look like.<\/p>\n

This photo below is a 8×10 or as I like to call it, the Postage stamp size.\u00a0 To give you a point of reference, this house is a colonial with a big great room.<\/p>\n

Too small for that wall – ah?\u00a0 Well here is an 11×14….<\/p>\n

and this is a 16×24… Fits a lot better – right?<\/p>\n

As you can see a 16×24 looks absolutely beautiful on the wall. \u00a0Another fun thing you can do in this software is show collages. \u00a0I often hear the complaint “I can’t afford the disc, and I love them all!” \u00a0Well in that case I actually would encourage something like this!<\/p>\n

\"undefined\" These photos are of an actually session done for one of my clients. \u00a0These wall photos are the walls of her house. \u00a0I snapped a quick photo of the room she was looking to decorate. \u00a0The above collage is (2) 16×24 photos with (9) 5x7s. \u00a0I absolutely love canvas. \u00a0They are so much easier to deal with than frames. \u00a0 \u00a0They go up with a simple nail and once they arrive, they are ready to be hung! No framing dealers to run off to, no mattes to select, no glass to pay for! \u00a0 \u00a0Next time you are ordering prints, remember, GO BIG, or …well, you know the saying!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
