Tiffany and Brendan – West Boylston Outdoor Engagement Photos

I loved spending this time with Tiffany and Brendan at the Old Stone Church in West Boylston, MA.   I couldn’t have asked for a better palate; just look at the gorgeous fall colors!

Not only were these two so fun and relaxed with each other – but they were so trusting with me and game for just about anything!  It’s not every day you’re asked to hop up on a ledge and try to look natural.  Tiffany and Brendan did it with ease and grace.

Their wedding is at the Codman Estate next year.  I cannot wait to shoot them!

Cheers!

A sweet portrait of a couple outside
A couple sits on the ground outside the old ruins of the church in Boylston Ma and has a portrait taken in the fall. This is such a great location, I couldn’t get over the light!
fall portraits for wedding announcements
The light in the this photo amazes me. I love the color and the softness of the background. We took this photo outside in Boylston Massachusetts by an old church on a lake. It was such a cold day but these two were such troopers. We kept having to take off their jackets to get the full effect of their outfits. They took it all in stride!
There is nothing more New England than sitting under a tree that is changing colors and having it frame your subject.
Fall foilage photos
For this photo I wanted to really bring out the fall colors in the background. It was getting dark and it was one of the last photos that I took. I grabbed my long lens, backed up from them and then zoomed in. I dialed down to 2.8 and took the photo. It was pure magic because the blur behind them lets you know the colors were changing and sets the scene, but it also focuses you on the couple.

The reflection of the trees in the lack, makes you almost miss the fact that there IS a Lake back there. The water on the lake was so still during our session it was amazing. I was able to lay on the ground and get them famed in with the tree and get a piece of the lake as well as the fall foliage in their engagement session.
standard couple portrait
Doesn’t everyone take the obligatory newspaper photo shot for their engagement photos?I always make sure to take this photo as its the one that mom and dad always seem to ask for! I made sure the sun was lighting them correctly and then just had them stand together!
Engagement photo of guy picking up girl
I always make sure to ask the groom “is your back okay” before having him lift the bride. This is one of my favorite photos to take and if the girl can kick her feet just right, it’s always a super cute photo. It has to be the right background to make it work. Here, I made sure to get down really low and get the leaves on the ground before having him pick her up. I love the juxtaposition of the trees around them.
Couple walks hand and hand
Every couple needs that photo of them walking together to close out their signature book for the wedding. We were losing light fast and this was the last shot of the day as we walked up to our cars. I think they were happy to be done!
