I have a secret, I absolutely love Cake Smashes!  It seems like such a silly thing to love, but hear me out.    There is something fun about picking a theme, finding the props and then setting it all up.  Some might think it’s a lot of work for such a short session, but I love it.  It lets my creative energy flow.  Trying to come up with unique cake smash themes can be challenging.  Most people want the Pink and Gold theme for the little girls and for boys its normally baseball and fire trucks.    I was thrilled when someone brought me the Cake Smash Theme of Brown Bear Brown Bear!

Funny enough, for this cake smash in Reading Massachusetts I actually raided my kids toys.  I never realized that my son has to go to sleep every night with a Brown Bear, Green Frog and a Yellow duck!  He also sleeps with a shark and I am not sure what to think of that.

Cake Smash Props

For this cake smash, these props worked out so great!  Mr. Bear (Brown Bear) is part of our family, so I was excited to have him join our photo session.   This little boy was amazing.  He was so willing to sit and be happy.    Below are some of my favorite photos from his smash session to celebrate his first birthday.  Some of the other themes that we have are Baseball, Fire Fighter, All that glitters and Hungry Caterpillar.  Cake Smashes are so much fun.  We start off by having a few minutes of straight up portraits and then move on to the cake smash session.  Once we are done with the session, we have a place you can clean the little one up.   You can read more about cake smash tips here: https://www.cordelephotography.com/cake-smash/cake-smash-information
