Abby and Chris – Half Life Party, Providence, RI

Abby and Chris met when they were were 16 (and a half) years old. When their friends pointed out that “from that point forward, more of [y]our lives will be spent with each other than not,” they threw a “Half Life” Party at Gracie’s in Providence, RI.  A love story that started the summer before their freshman year at Boston University. Since, they’ve “never not been together, actually”.

The couple has “a thing about tea”, and so they decided to have a proper tea party; hats and fascinators were encouraged.  As Abby tells it “once you’re having tea … well, you have to have hats, don’t you?”  Gracie’s put together a custom menu for them (including the menu cards), featuring a Japanese Strawberry Cake specifically requested by the couple.

The bride wore a gorgeous gold Tadashi Shoji gown with an Andie Cohen-Healy designed fascinator from The Feathered Head.   Cheryl Irons was responsible for her chic up-do which was specifically designed for her fabulous headpiece.

Christys of London for Brooks Brothers provided Chris’ bowler and Brooks Brothers for the rest of his dashing ensemble.

Abby and Chris hadn’t had a traditional wedding ceremony or reception with a photographer, so I was lucky enough to be asked.  I love a good reason to celebrate – and this was, not only a great reason, but a REALLY fun party.
