Photographers everywhere

This season we have seen an increase in the number of point and shoot cameras at all our events.  Normally we are so excited to have a few shutter bugs along side us shooting away.  This year, it’s getting a bit out of control.  I’ve lost a lot of nice moments and fantastic photos due to point and shoot flashes, the red eye beam of death and people just trying to get an amazing shot.  The problem is, if THEY think it’s an amazing shot, I probably have already seen it and am going in for it.

I am not sure if it’s a secret contest to post the photos first on Facebook, or be the one to get “the shot” but it’s making my job increasingly difficult and my clients photos are suffering.  I get a lot of requests for “candid” photos, but they are becoming increasingly hard to get.  If everyone is taking photos and not talking and enjoying themselves, then candid photos just don’t happen.

We are asking all out clients to maybe put a small note in the program to be mindful of where the professional photographer is.

Happy shooting.
